About Us
Once upon a time, Jacob Dashew had a vision--to start a business that offered top-quality sewing machines and repairs. His vision became reality in 1898 . After being at the helm for years, he passed the business, J. Dashew, Inc., down to his daughter, Sadie Dashew Ginsberg, who expanded the offerings to include industrial sewing supplies.
In the early 1960's , Sadie's son-in-law, Melvin Bender, took over the reins of his family's business. When the industry took a turn--moving a huge portion of clothing manufacturing to foreign countries, he reconsidered the continuation of his business.
That's when Melvin's daughter, Jory Bender stepped in. In 2001, she became president of Dashew Supply Company.
With Jory's vision of expanding and modernizing the systems of Dashew, one critical factor did not change. That is, Dashew Supply Company remains true to its century-old mission--to provide quality products supported by a knowledgeable staff that treats every customer as a friend.
We welcome the privilege of providing that service to you and thank you for choosing Dashew Supply Company.
